Found objects, mixed media – tea kettle, doll, ceramic turkeys, wooden giraffe, toy tiger, glass strawberry, heat coils, shoe inside of a sock, landline phone, wood, and paint.

This was a piece that came out of pure whimsy.  The tea kettle was really funny to me as it had such a goofy expression as a face, somebody who would be related to Gonzo from the Muppets.  From there came a doll body and legs followed by all sorts of fun toys and small sculptures.  The surprise that came out of this process was putting a sandal shoe inside of a sock and dunking it in paint and letting it dry in this stretched out movement.  It just turned everything on its head to have socks over shoes that was just so fun to think about and look at.  It's important to have surprises in the art works that keep revealing themselves over time.
